Accessible Design Service

If you choose to do something other than that recommended in BS8300 or Approved Document M of the Buildings Regulations, that's OK provided it meets the underlying needs of disabled people being addressed in those documents, but how do you know what those requirements really are?

We are able to work with your designers or architects, providing technical data and assessing drawings. Although your specialists may be aware of Approved Document M of the Building Regulations, and perhaps BS8300, those documents cannot readily convey why a particular feature is required, or perhaps settle the conflict between requirements that appear to be at odds with each other.

Many new developments, and refurbishments, still implement inappropriate solutions due primarily to a lack of understanding of the real needs of a variety of disabled people. Some focus unduly on one requirement, usually wheelchair access, to the detriment of the majority, leading to the need for further alterations. We help you see the whole picture.

We provide the practical insight into why certain features are required, and which are most important for your particular business and customer base. We attend on-site or review meetings, or assess CAD drawings, helping you get designs right from the earliest stage, ensuring that reasonable adjustments are included in a cost effective manner.

Our Accessible Solutions Manual contains a section devoted to providing details of design solutions.

We offer a plans review service for smaller businesses who may be unable to take advantage of our full design and consultancy services.
